Journal Entry 2 for Ag Leadership
I have not had much experience in delegation. The only experience that I could think of was when I was a supervisor for the front end at Wal-mart. When I was a supervisor, I was responsible for making sure that certain tasks were accomplished such as getting all front end associates their breaks on “time” and making sure that the register areas was maintained by being clean, neat and the bags rack were full. To ensure that the tasks were successfully done I delegated to my cashiers and fellow front end supervisors. I did this by assigning different cashiers the tasks of washing the registers, emptying the trash, fillings bags, covering breaks, and putting away returns. I also assigned different front end supervisors different areas to watch over to ensure that breaks were taken care of. This was successful and unsuccessful in the art of delegation. It was successful when everyone cooperated and showed up. It was not successful when people did not cooperate and people called out.
